There are countless books out there on business, sales, and persuasion. But how do you know which ones are worth your time?
For me, the key isn’t just reading a lot of books, but studying a select few that have a profound impact. I download about 50 books a year, but I only deeply study a handful. These are the books that I revisit time and time again, each time gleaning new insights and inspiration.
Here are the 13 books that have had the greatest influence on my business career:
- Influence by Robert Cialdini: This classic text is a must-read for anyone interested in persuasion. Cialdini identifies six key principles of influence that you can use to win people over to your side.
- Persuasion by Robert Cialdini: Cialdini strikes gold again with this book, which dives deeper into the psychology of persuasion.
- 50 Scientific Laws of Selling: More Ways to Get Yes by Robert Cialdini: This is Cialdini’s third book in the Influence trilogy. It provides 50 specific strategies that you can use to close more deals.
- DotCom Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company by Russell Brunson: Brunson follows up on Secrets with this book, which focuses on helping you scale your online business.
- Ready, Fire, Aim by Michael Masterson: This book is all about taking action and getting things done. Masterson argues that it’s better to take action and make mistakes than to stay paralyzed by analysis.
- $100 million offers by Alex Hormozi: This book is a blueprint for creating high-value offers that your customers will love. Hormozi teaches you how to identify your ideal customer, understand their needs, and create an offer that they can’t refuse.
- Sales Acceleration Formula by Mark Roberts: This book is a step-by-step guide to building a predictable and scalable sales process. Roberts provides practical advice on everything from lead generation to closing deals.
- Predictable Revenue by Aaron Ross: This book is all about using outbound sales to generate predictable revenue for your business. Ross outlines a data-driven approach to sales that can help you close more deals and grow your business.
- The Motive by Patrick Lencioni: This book is a great resource for anyone who wants to build a strong and cohesive team culture. Lencioni identifies five dysfunctions that can plague teams and provides practical advice on how to overcome them.
I encourage you to check out some of these books and see if they have the same impact on you as they did on me. Remember, the key is not just to read these books, but to study them and apply the lessons you learn to your own business.
Happy learning!
